Brewed Coffee + Wine Bar
Creative Direction, Brand Messaging, Identity Design.
Brewed was a self-initiated case study. A chance to build a complete identity for the kind of client Marlow wants more of, and to have something concrete to put in front of them.
The concept: a Williamsburg coffee shop by day and wine bar by night, built for a neighbourhood that doesn't separate its mornings from its evenings. The name needed to hold both halves of the business without picking a side — nodding to coffee, but leaving room for everything poured after dark. From there, the visual system had to carry the same duality: warm and unserious in daylight, moody and a little reckless once the sun goes down.
The result is a full identity built to flex across that shift. A hand-drawn mascot and loose, character-driven illustration soften the brand's edges, while a bold, slightly warped wordmark gives it enough attitude to hold a wine bar's late-night energy. Vintage-toned photography — iced coffee, olive-skewered martinis, spilled espresso, a woman leaning over a pool table — sets the tone for the brand's social presence, paired with a wink of copy: "Coffee... Wine... What can go wrong...?" Built to feel like the same place at 8 am and at midnight, and to show a prospective client exactly how Marlow thinks before they've hired the studio to prove it.
